Agriculture is a cornerstone of Thailand’s identity and economy. Agriculture occupies a massive portion of Thailand’s land.
My research entails an enquiry into the shifting craft practices relevant to the issues faced by Thailand today regarding agricultural waste generation and economic instability. The design will attempt to provide a connection to the land practices of growing agriculture and form a pedagogical example for such practices that are invaluable as a craft for Chiang Mai. The relationship of the craft practices with the land involves literally growing the craft (the resources) and reconnecting the people to the land.
